Long hours, diligent work, creative thought, and listening to those who know more; these are the principles which constituted the creation of The Compass. Anything worthwhile is unlikely to come easily, and The Compass project was no different. To ensure the best possible movie, the dream team of a filmmaker, animator, graphic designer, special effects engineer, writer and composer were assembled. In our initial meetings, it was made clear that this project must be handled at the highest level of excellence. We all agreed to give The Compass all of our effort and focus, and dedicate our time to its overall success.

Filming the movie took us from the rivers, to the ocean, to the deserts, the forests, the mountains and many points in between. We dealt with freezing waters, huge temperature fluxes and altitudes up to 7,300 feet. 16-hour work days were not unusual. Smiles continued. We all knew the importance of the project. The message of The Compass had to be told. We knew the world needed this film now more than ever.

Our team knew that the cinematography was essential to the conveyance of the spirit of the story. Special attention was paid to all the details of the surroundings such as water, wind, fire, trees, flowers, dirt, sand and clouds. Everything mattered.

After filming was complete, our next task was to make sense of the 150 hours of footage from sea level to the highest peaks, and of the world’s leading experts on personal development. What to do? We held more meetings and narrowed the focus of the mounds of valuable footage. What emerged was an epic story which transforms lives and enhances the planet.
